世界文化理事會和城大於6月4日聯合宣佈，Jean-Pierre Changeux教授和Malik Mâaza教授分別為第35屆世界文化理事會獎項得主。
城大頒授2018年度「William Benter應用數學獎」予美國杜克大學James B. Duke數學、電子及計算機工程學教授Ingrid Daubechies教授。Daubechies教授以小波數學理論的研究聞名國際，並在數碼數據處理領域作出傑出貢獻。
城大物理及材料科學系博士研究生傅勁裕，在11月22至26日於北京舉行的「2004年中國材料研討會」上，榮獲青年優秀論文獎。
Ricky Fu, a final year PhD research student in the Department of Physics and Materials Science, was honoured with an Excellent Young Scientist Paper Award at the 2004 Chinese Materials Researach Conference, held 22 to 26 November in Beijing.

The event is hosted by CityU’s Department of Computer Science (CS) with financial support from the Croucher Foundation.
