Over 100 secondary school students packed CityU's campus on 4 September 2004, to take part in the third Build and Shake Inter-school Competition organised by CityU's Department of Building and Construction.
Some 160 pottery figures make their way to CityU, 6 September to 17 October, 2004. They parade the entrance of the Academic Building, grace the University Circle, and “speak” with the CityU community.
A group of alumni, staff and students have formed the 'Citywalker' team to celebrate the University’s 20th Anniversary. They pledge to raise HK$200,000 for the Oxfam TrailWalker event taking place in November, 2004.
城 大 雖 然 是 一 所 只 有 短 短 15年 歷 史 的 年 輕 大 學 ， 不 過 ， 漫 步 校 園 裡 ， 碰 見 享 譽 國 際 的 學 者 的 機 會 卻 相 當 之 高 。 在 過 去 幾 個 月 裡 ， 城 大 即 歡 迎 了 兩 位 在 國 際 學 術 界 享 有 極 高 地 位 的 學 者 加 入 我 們 的 大 家 庭 ， 他 們 分 別 是 剛 履 新 的 中 文 、 翻 譯 及 語 言 學 系 系 主 任 鄭 錦 全 （ 講 座 ） 教 授 和 製 造 工 程 及 工 程 管 理 學 系 系 主 任 米 耀 榮 （ 講 座 ） 教 授 。 除 了 他 們 兩 位 之 外 ， 原 來 城 大 起 碼 還 有 六 位 「 世 界 院 士 」 級 的 學 者 ， 分 佈 在 各 個 學 院 、 部 門 ， 他 們 分 別 是 校 長 張 信 剛 教 授 、 副 校 長 （ 研 究 ） 鍾 寶 璇 教 授 、 王 世 全 教 授 、 史 梅 爾 教 授 、 甘 柏 嶺 教 授 、 王 士 元 教 授 。
CityU's Annual Report 1998-99 has won two top honours at the New York Annual Report Contest: a Gold Award each in the financial data and non-profit making organization categories.
