城大獲香港華嚴佛學社捐贈300萬港元，成立留本基金作獎學金之用。
城大與清華大學合辦的MPA+ EMBA學位課程8月24日在北京舉行首屆開學典禮。城大校長郭位教授在典禮上發表演說，鼓勵學生營商時應顧及社會責任。
城大長者學苑成立十周年，於8月22日舉行慶祝典禮。
第三屆電機電子工程師學會控制技術與應用會議8月19日至21日於城大舉行，雲集來自30多個國家和地區、逾300位工程學專家。
城大將頒授榮譽博士學位予Michael Kotlikoff教授、梁智鴻醫生，以表彰他們對教育及社會福祉的重大貢獻。
4月30日，在傑出教學獎牌匾揭幕儀式上，校長張信剛教授說：“牌匾將提醒我們：城大是教與學的中心。過去10年來，我們一直將教學質量作為城大的中心主題，沒有誰能比我們在此看到的這些名字更能體現這一精神。”牌匾上刻有自從1993年傑出教學獎建立以來所有獲獎教師的姓名，在牌匾遷入教學樓入口處之際，城大專門為其舉行了揭幕儀式。
On 30 April, the University announced the five winners of the 2003-04 Teaching Excellence Awards and organized a Symposium on Teaching and Learning as part of its efforts in promoting and fostering a culture of quality assurance.
On 27th, March, CityU students excelled once again in the 6th Intervarsity Putonghua Recitation Contest.
Today, in the first ever open forum for staff by a serving Council Chairman, Sir Gordon Wu laid out his plans for the University over the next few years: to situate the new Community College on campus, to map out a campus development plan to meet future growth of student numbers, and to improve management and staff interaction and co-operation.
