Computers Management in Lecture Theatres and Classrooms
All centrally administered teaching classrooms and lecture theatres (LT) are installed with a networked desktop computer installed inside a lectern. These computers are connected to the projector displays for presentations and demonstrations. Users are required to login for accessing the software available via the Work Desk menu. The computers are protected with an advanced anti-virus agent.
To avoid virus infection and private data leak from previous user, these computers are configured to remove all data on every reboot. Users who prefer to bring their own notebook computers instead of using the desktop computer may connect the projection facilities via HDMI cables. For connection to the internet, CityU users are recommended to use the CityU Wi-Fi network. Guest users, however, may connect via "Wi-Fi.HK via CityU". Staff may reserve the LTs / Classrooms by submitting their teaching requirements to the Academic Regulations and Records Office (ARRO) for timetabling or reserve directly through the Venue and Classroom Booking System.
