Scanning Facilities

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) has set up four colour scanners with OCR capability in the CSC Open Access Area (G/F) and CSC Printing & Scanning Area (4/F) of Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building (LI) for staff and students to use.  These scanners can be used to capture colour images and text documents with a scanning speed of approximately 4 seconds for an A4-size document at 300 dot-per-inch resolution.  The scanning system supports book spine shadow elimination and text distortion correction associated with books scanned on flatbeds.  These scanners also support Searchable PDF output.
