城大於6月30日推出「CityU Scholars」資訊系統，以推廣教職員的成就，輔助向政府上報資訊，提升校內匯報的效率，以及減省重複的工作。
研究資助局及各學術範疇小組60多位成員於6月14日訪問城大。
電子工程學系博士研究生Ahmed Sharif憑藉有關環保無鉛焊料的研究，於「2004年電子封裝國際會議」中獲頒青年獎，而Ahmed是唯一獲獎的香港學生。
由城大領導的三個應用研究項目，在研究資助局（以下簡稱研資局）2004-05年度中央撥款的角逐中，共獲得1,104萬港元撥款，是大學教育資助委員會資助院校中獲撥款最多的院校。該三個研究項目所獲得的撥款，佔研資局2004至05年度中央撥款總額2,600萬港元的42.5%，充份顯示城大在應用研究領域的貢獻及院校合作研究項目上擔當的領導角色。
