城大海洋污染國家重點實驗室獲聯合國認可，統籌一項為期十年的「全球河口監測計劃」，通過收集和研究全球主要城市河口的環境污染物，從而制定長遠推動潔淨河口的方針，是香港唯一在首輪申請獲聯合國認可的行動計劃。
