電子工程學系講座教授薛泉教授獲頒廣東省科學技術獎一等獎，以表揚其在濾波器的研究創電路設計先河。
由城大領導的四個研究計劃共獲得研資局的協作研究金撥款2,500萬港元。以撥款金額及獲批研究計劃數量計，均為城大歷年最高，城大亦在本地大學中排名第二。
