為了協助新生適應大學的學習模式，學會學習，商學院舉辦第五屆「學長輔學計劃」。該計劃的迎新典禮於9月17日舉行，分別有逾250位來自全校不同學系的新生出席。
城大於9月14日為首次透過「全國普通高校統一招生計劃」錄取的內地學生舉行迎新典禮，歡迎他們加入城大的大家庭。
香港城市大學將於10月21日舉行校慶日及城大夜宴活動，著聯誼活動提升師生士氣及對校園的歸屬感，同時亦希望加強與關心城大發展之人士的聯繫。
本著香港城市大學促進多元文化及國際化教育的使命，學生發展處轄下的國際及外地學生組於9月2日舉辦迎新典禮，歡迎逾200名非本地新生。
