城大獲得研資局新設的「策略性公共政策研究資助計劃」撥款近500萬港元，領導與癡呆症患者的家庭照顧者有關的研究項目，以支持和推動長期公共政策研究。
城大領導的三項研究項目獲研資局批出1,620萬元協作研究金，成為2008-09年度獲得最多撥款和項目申請成功率最高的大學。
