爲迎接大學四年制，大學已開始多方面的籌備工作，並積極加強本科生教育及豐富學生的學習經驗，校長張信剛教授就此構思了新的組織架構。
張信剛校長與40多名新當選的學生領袖在2月18日進行了一場真情對話，張教授將東方哲學家的智慧與《聖經》、《達芬奇密碼》、韓劇《大長今》及他個人的經歷交織在一起，為「如何成為好學生及好領袖」提供了富有啟發性的看法。

城大校長張信剛教授在緊迫的行政事務中，仍不忘與學生分享知識。10月7日，在擠滿了100多位聽衆的 中國文化中心(CCIV)視聽室，張教授分享了他對「伊斯蘭教傳入中土」的見解與觀察。他說自己是從一個好奇的觀察者的角度講述有關題目的，吸引了穆斯林與非穆斯林、學生及學者前來聽講。
