城大物理及材料科學系李述湯講座教授獲選為中國科學院（中科院）院士。李教授是繼常務副校長唐叔賢教授後第二位獲選為中科院院士的城大學者。
香港城市大學（城大）物理及材料科學系李述湯講座教授，憑藉「氧化物輔助合成一維半導體納米材料及應用」研究項目，獲2005年度國家自然科學獎二等獎。

He also toured the University's laboratories.
