城大學生發展處舉行迎新典禮，協助新生融入校園。典禮上，校長郭位教授勉勵新生珍惜大學生活，畢業後造福社群
城大於8月19日舉行迎新雕塑揭幕典禮，歡迎新生。迎新雕塑是由教職員、校友及學生捐出與城大有關的物品、經蠟封後融合而成，並將成為校園內永久性的裝置。
校長郭位教授前往西貢保良局渡假營，出席由學生會主辦的迎新營，並親身下場與新生玩拔河比賽。
Sixteen CityU student athletes participate in the 7th All China University Games, 28 August to 6 September 2004, in Shanghai.
The welcoming ceremonies of the Student Orientation 2004, 24-26 August,welcomed more than 10,000 new undergraduate and postgraduate students to the CityU family.
This summer, 70 students took part in the summer internship programme, organized by the Student Development Services Career Centre. They have gained valuable experience working in 22 companies in Beijing and Shanghai.
