"This will be a valuable opportunity for CityU to showcase our research strengths to the general public," said Mr H Y Wong, Director of the Industrial and Business Development Office, which coordinates CityU's participation in the Expo.
At the Expo, CityU research teams and CityUE companies show off their innovative ideas and achievements in biotechnology, IT, multimedia, robotics, wireless communications and surface technology. Through demonstrations, visitors also learn about the operations and functions of some of some new innovations such as the miracle of the levitating railway, the magic of a Smart Electronic Ear in diagnosing faults from industrial equipments, and the wonder of intelligent building products that could change our future mode of living.
The Innovation Expo 2001, organized on the theme: "Today's Technology, Tomorrow's World", features the latest innovative technologies from local academia, businesses and industries. Exhibits are distributed in three thematic pavilions: "ecLiving", which displays inventions, innovative products and latest environmental technologies that have an influence on our daily lives; "Interactive World", which showcases interactive gadgets and interfaces, advancement in information technology, telecommunications and multi-media entertainment; and "Techno-fountain", which shows the latest technologies in biotechnology, Chinese medicine, plastics and metals.

23 November (Friday): 10:00 - 20:00
24 November (Saturday): 10:00 - 18:00
25 November (Sunday): 10:00 - 18:00
26 November (Monday): 10:00 - 17:00
Admission is free.
