Welcoming new Council appointee

An outstanding member of the legal and business sectors has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR to the Council of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) for a term of three years starting from 1 June 2022.

Ms Rita Pang Yat-sum is the founder of See Change Education and Co-founder of Bridgeway Prime Shop Fund Management Ltd (Bridgeway Fund). She has over 20 years of legal experience in the private sector at Bridgeway Fund and Citigroup and in US law firms.

Ms Pang is actively involved in education affairs, serving as a board member for the Harbor School in Ap Lei Chau, committee member for the UNESCO SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Debating Competition – Secondary School Teacher Training, a judge for the 2021 Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund administered by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, also a judge for The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2021 organised by Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA).

She is the convenor and chairperson for the International Parliamentary Debate Competition (IPDC) for the Greater Bay Area and the Belt-and-Road Regions, one of the largest parliamentary-style debating competitions. Students from over 40 schools in eight countries and regions joined the 3rd IPDC held this year.

Ms Pang has served the community in various capacities, including as a committee member of CPPCC Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Nansha District.

As an alumna of Harvard University, she holds several positions appointed by Harvard University, connecting alumni in the community.
