HK TECH Tiger at CityU nurtures science and innovation leaders

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) proudly presents HK TECH Tiger, a suite of exceptional programmes that enable high-flying students to pursue excellence, develop their potential, and take courses taught by world-class STEM professors.

Monica Chan Hiu-man, Year 2 student, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme, was equally positive. “The collaboration with Cornell University plus the focus on the One Health concept inspired me to pursue my career aspirations at the University’s Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences,” she said. 

To cater to the advanced learning needs of elite students, and to enhance their competitiveness, HK TECH Tiger offers a customised curriculum in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and other high quality fundamental courses. Students can also pursue a master's degree at the University or at a world-renowned overseas university through our bachelor’s and master’s combination option, and may have the opportunity to participate in HK Tech 300, our flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme.

Two new scholarships, the President’s Scholarship and the Hong Kong Tech Scholarship, reward students who have achieved academic excellence in science (including the biological sciences) and engineering. Tenable for four years, the President’s Scholarship is worth $300,000 per year and the two Hong Kong Tech Scholarships are each worth $200,000 per year.

Students must have excellent public examination results in order to be eligible for HK TECH Tiger, such as having an overall score of 30 or above in four core and two elective subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination; 3A* in the General Certificate of Education Advanced level or an overall score of 40 or above in the International Baccalaureate® programme for non-JUPAS students.

At CityU, which promotes the integration of research and teaching, high-quality input from scientists paves the way for the success of the programme.
