CityU alumni reunion @ Shanghai

More than 120 alumni, University representatives and guests gathered in Shanghai for a reunion organised by the Alumni Relations Office on 25 October. CityU Convocation was the event partner.
“CityU Alumni Reunion @ Shanghai” attracted former students from Shanghai and its vicinity as well as alumni association representatives who flew in from Hong Kong.
University representatives in attendance were Professor Way Kuo, CityU President and University Distinguished Professor; Professor Roderick Wong Sue-cheun, Vice-President (Development and External Relations); Ms Kathy Chan Yin-ling, Associate Vice-President (Alumni Relations) and the chief coordinator of the activity; Professor Yan Houmin, Dean of the College of Business; Professor Hui Yer-van, Associate Dean of the School of Graduate Studies; and Dr Hao Gang and Dr Kevin Chiang Wei-yu, Associate Professors in the Department of Management Sciences.
The gathering started with a dance performance by students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University on a stage decorated with images of Shanghai from the 1930s and 1940s. Participants donned costumes in the style and fashion of this period and took photographs in what was a delightful evening of conversation and networking.
In addition, Professor Kuo discussed the University’s latest developments and achievements in the “A Dialogue with the President” session. He also gave out copies of his book Selected Articles of Way to Kuo Blog and shared with alumni his thoughts about CityU.
With more than 3,000 former students now living in the mainland, CityU’s alumni networks are well developed in places such as Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The Alumni Relations Office works to expand the network and encourage alumni to continue their support for the alma mater by holding similar gatherings regularly in different cities.
