University System of Taiwan delegation visits CityU

​A distinguished delegation led by Professor Ovid J L Tzeng, Chancellor of the University System of Taiwan (UST), visited City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 27 May to pave the way for stronger academic cooperation and student exchange between the two institutions. 
 
Three other top leaders belonging to the System, which is an research-focused alliance of four universities in Taiwan, joined the delegation: Professor Lee Wu Yan-hwa, President of National Chiao Tung University, Professor Ip Wing-huen, Vice-Chancellor of UST, and Professor Chen Cheng-chen, Vice-Chancellor of UST.
 
They held talks with Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, and a range of academic leaders and visited the “Pure Land: Inside the Mogao Grottoes at Dunhuang” exhibition at the School of Creative Media, City TV, a student-run high-definition campus TV station in the Department of Media and Communication (COM), and the uniquely designed Run Run Shaw Library.
 
Professor Tzeng and the delegates said they were particularly impressed by the Pure Land exhibition, the documentary TV programmes produced by the COM students, and the humanistic atmosphere of the Library. They also held talks with academic representatives from COM, the School of Energy and Environment, and the College of Business.
 
Professor Tzeng said he looked forward to comprehensive academic cooperation and student exchanges between UST and CityU in the future.
