New Council members have been briefed on the latest developments at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) by the President of the University and representatives of the senior management.

Professor Way Kuo, President, and representatives of the senior management met with Mr Andrew Fan Ka-fai and Ms Dilys Chau Suet-fung, CityU Council members appointed early this year by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), at a meeting on 9 April.

Mr Fan, President of the Greater China Region at Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. and Ms Chau, a certified public accountant and a partner at Ernst & Young, are both recipients of the CityU Distinguished Alumni Awards. Accompanied by Professor Kuo, they visited Academic 3, the Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre, phase 4 of the student residence and the Library.

The two newly appointed Council members have contributed enthusiastically to the development of their alma mater over the years, and CityU will seek their opinions about a variety of issues in the University’s pursuit of excellence, Professor Kuo said.

After visiting campus, both Mr Fan and Ms Chau expressed their delight at the rapid advancement of their alma mater.

“CityU’s advanced teaching and learning facilities inspire students to imagine and paint their future dreams. As a leading university in the region, CityU is nurturing professionals and future leaders for Hong Kong and the world,” Mr Fan said.

Ms Chau, appointed as a Council member for the second time, said she was proud as an alumna to witness CityU’s outstanding achievements and significant development. “Hong Kong should also be proud to have such a good university,” she added.
