CityU appoints Professor (Chair) Wei Kwok-kee as Dean of the Faculty of Business

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) announces the appointment of Professor (Chair) Wei Kwok-kee as the Dean of the Faculty of Business, effective 16 July 2007, on a three-year term.

 

Professor Wei joined CityU in 2002 and is currently the Head of the University’s Department of Information Systems. He has substantial experience in academic administration in Hong Kong and Singapore and excels as a distinguished scholar and an excellent researcher with an international reputation.

 

A Fellow and former President of the Association for Information Systems, Professor Wei serves on the editorial board of several international journals including the renowned IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

 

He received his BSc from Nanyang University in Singapore and his PhD from the University of York, England. He was Professor and Founding Head of the Department of Information Systems at the National University of Singapore prior to joining CityU. He has also served as Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly and Associate Editor of Information Systems Research.

 

Acting President of CityU Professor Richard Ho Yan-ki welcomed Professor Wei’s appointment to his new post. Professor Wei’s excellent academic leadership, professional insights and administrative experience will contribute towards the pursuit of academic and research excellence by both staff and students of the Faculty of Business, Professor Ho said.
