Building stronger ties among alumni

About 100 guests witnessed the inauguration of the new CityU Alumni Association (CityUAA) at a Happy Gathering for alumni on 29 April. In his address, Mr Patrick Lee, the re-nominated Chairman, pledged to build stronger ties among alumni in support of University development. “I have gained a lot from CityU in knowledge, friendship and personal development. I hope I can contribute to my alma mater through the Alumni Association,” said Mr Lee.  “We will continue to serve CityU alumni and students in our best efforts in the year to come.” 

 

At the Happy Gathering, a renowned psychiatrist, Dr Mak Ki-yan, and guest speaker Mr Chan Yung shared with the participants how to lead a healthy and happy life. He talked about how to deal with pressure and gave advice on how to set one’s priorities in  life.

 

The CityU AA has organized a variety of activities over the past two years. Mr

Lee said a large-scale class reunion has been planned for the end of the year. Other activities will also be announced at appropriate times. “Apart from getting our fellow alumni together, we will also identify suitable opportunities for our alumni to serve and contribute to the University,” Mr Lee said .

 

With the support of the Development & Alumni Relations Office, CityU has so far established 28 alumni associations and five sports /interest clubs for graduates.
