North Thai Children through the lens

SCM second year student Miss C K Tang held a photography exhibition at CityU, from 22 to 25 November, showcasing two of her series "N. Thai Children" and "Footprints Here and There".

"I love seeing the word through the lens, not only for capturing the fleeting moments, but also for the stories in the pictures." Miss Tang said, " My friends like the North Thai children series. They are moved probably because of the childhood innocence exuded through the photos. I could feel a forceful energy of life, and an urge to take it down in pictures." Miss Tang took the pictures years ago when she went with voluntary workers of Chu Kuang Cultural Services Centre on visits to refugee villages of the mountainous regions of North Thai. As for "Footprints Here and There", they were attempts to rediscover feelings that easily elude us in our busy lives, she said.

Wah Yan Cultural Foundation Chairman and Legislative Councilor Mr Lau Chin Shek , celebrated actress

Ms Sylvia Chang and SCM Pro-Director Mr David Smith officiated at the exhibition opening on November 22. Mr Lau said, "CK captures for us childhood innocence. She has close to heart the sufferings of children in North Thai, and a passion and hope for life.
