Honorary Doctorate Presentation Ceremony 2023 and Distinguished Lecture by Professor Jeffrey Sachs: “The New Global Politics of Sustainable Development”

Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman, will confer honorary doctorates on the following four distinguished individuals at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 6 October for their significant contribution to education and the well-being of society:

• Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, GBS, JP, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of Techtronic Industries Company Limited;
• Professor Michael Graetzel, Director of the Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne;
• Professor Chad A. Mirkin, Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology at Northwestern University;
• Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University.

Professor Freddy Boey, CityU President, will attend the ceremony. 

Before the ceremony, Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs will deliver a CityU Distinguished Lecture. You are warmly invited to cover both events:
