The “Science and Engineering Fun Days” kicks off a series of laboratory sessions, campus/laboratory tours and generic talks for secondary students on 26 July at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
The aim of the three-day programme, which is organized by CityU’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, is to provide opportunities for F4 to F7 students to better appreciate how modern technologies change our lives and gain a deeper understanding of the Faculty’s learning environment and facilities.
You are cordially invited to cover the following activities on 26 July:
l “Can we see how microbes grow?” – You drink whatever you find in your refrigerator, but which drink is best assimilated by the human body? CityU students will pick four common drinks sold on the streets and conduct a real-life laboratory test. They are going to find out how the growth of microbe is related to assimilation.
l “Fun in creating 3D human models” – How do computers simulate body movement? Secondary school students get to wear specially designed suits and find out how computers read body language.
