2026 Graduation Dinner celebrates milestone and strengthens alumni bonds

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) recently hosted the “2026 Graduation Dinner”, bringing together graduating students, University management, faculty members and alumni to celebrate an important milestone as graduates embark on a new chapter in their lives.

The event was held in a warm and lively atmosphere, with about 200 graduates and guests from various disciplines in attendance. It extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and laid a strong foundation for maintaining long-term connections between them and their alma mater.

In his remarks, Professor the Honourable Michael Ngai , CityUHK Council Chairman, congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies and expressed sincere appreciation to faculty, families and friends for their unwavering support. He highlighted that CityUHK has continued to achieve remarkable accomplishments, including being ranked the “Most International University in the World” by THE for three consecutive years (2024, 2025 and 2026) and securing a place among the world’s top 100 universities across the four major global rankings. These achievements reflect the collective efforts of the CityUHK community and provide graduates with confidence and momentum as they enter the next stage of their journey, he said.

Professor Ngai urges graduates to seize opportunities, strive for excellence and contribute positively to society

Professor Ngai encouraged graduates to “always maintain a passion for learning, with the courage to explore and the willingness to innovate, while upholding the vision and sense of responsibility of a CityUHK graduate by aligning their personal aspirations with national development.” He urged them to seize opportunities, strive for excellence and contribute positively to society. He reminded the graduates that their graduation is not a farewell, but the beginning of a lifelong connection with the University as alumni.

Professor Lee Chun-sing, CityUHK Acting President, conveyed his congratulations via a video message, encouraging graduates to move forward with confidence and resilience as they embrace new challenges. He expressed his hope that they would remain closely connected with the University and continue to nurture this valuable bond.
