Five esteemed communication experts join CityUHK’s COM as Adjunct Professors

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is committed to attracting outstanding scholars and professionals from around the world to enhance the quality of education. Recently, the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at CityUHK invited five distinguished professionals in the field of communication to serve as adjunct professors. They bring a wealth of experience, vision and expertise in communication to nurture the next generation of creative leaders in the field and strengthen the University's ties with the professional community.
The five new adjunct professors joining CityUHK's COM are: Professor Sylvia Chang Ai-chia, a renowned artist and filmmaker; Professor Cai Jin, Co-Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of Sing Tao News Corporation Limited; Professor Shirley Chong, Director of Communications and Institutional Research at CityUHK; Professor George Chen, Managing Director (Head of the Hong Kong and Taiwan Offices) and Co-Chair of Digital Practice at The Asia Group; and Professor Dorian Ho Kwok-ching, Founder of the Asian New Generation Creativity Design Association. Each of them possesses rich professional knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of areas, such as film and television, new media, marketing, strategic communication, brand management and creative design.
CityUHK warmly welcomes these distinguished professionals, who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments in their respective fields, to serve as adjunct professors. They will share their practical experience and insights accumulated throughout their careers with CityUHK students, nurturing future social leaders.

Through interactions with these professors, I believe our students will be inspired to explore new knowledge in the field of media and communication," said Professor Christine Huang Yi-hui, Head and Chair Professor in the COM.
She further noted, "Professor Chang is a highly influential creator in the Chinese film and television industry. Her profound visual storytelling skills and artistic cultivation will inspire students to use creativity and emotion to move audiences and learn the power of storytelling through images. Her cross-disciplinary experience in visual arts and humanistic care will also offer students a deeply insightful learning perspective. Professor Cai's practical knowledge in new media transformation, technological integration, and corporate communication will help students understand trends at the media-finance intersection and future industry challenges and opportunities. Professor Chong’s expertise in public relations and international brand promotion, along with her insights into the international higher education market and external communication strategies, will greatly broaden students' global vision and communication landscape. Professor Chen’s extensive experience in media technology and policy will aid students in grasping digital communication’s development and the essentials of media convergence and social platform strategies. Professor Ho, with expertise across fashion, branding, and creative design, will guide students in integrating creative industries with communication practices through his ability to blend creative thinking and market strategies."
