CityUHK Milk wins dual honours at BDA Brand Award 2025 for outstanding brand image

Produced by CityUHK Farm, the educational by-product CityUHK Milk was honoured with the Grand Award of the Year and the Best Brand Image Award at the BDA Brand Award 2025, organised by the Hong Kong Designers Association. These prestigious accolades recognise City University of Hong Kong’s (CityUHK) excellence in innovative learning and sustainability under the concept of One Health.
CityUHK Milk is a tasty and nutritious beverage, embodying a vibrant, innovative and youthful brand image that fully reflects the spirit of CityUHK. With its outstanding performance in visual identity, brand language, brand values and culture, social image and social responsibility, CityUHK Milk was awarded the Best Brand Image Award, showcasing its unique brand appeal. In addition, CityUHK Milk received the prestigious Grand Award of the Year, further enhancing its reputation and recognition in the market.
CityUHK Milk is a by-product from CityUHK Farm. It is sourced from the only dairy herd in Hong Kong, embodying the concepts of One Health and innovative learning. Professor Vanessa Barrs, Dean of the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, said, “CityUHK’s Farm is the only operating dairy farm in Hong Kong. It offers Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) students hands-on training in animal husbandry, veterinary examination and food safety, equipping them with essential skills for their future careers.” CityUHK’s BVM is the only programme with dual accreditation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK and the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council. It is also Hong Kong’s first and only veterinary programme.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, CityUHK Milk uses low-emission feed, and its milk is locally pasteurised to reduce its carbon footprint. Since its launch on campus in 2023, it has been highly popular. Beyond providing quality dairy products, CityUHK actively engages with the community through its milk brand, distributing milk to primary schools and at charity events and supporting society, further enhancing its brand impact.
Building on the success of CityUHK Milk, the University introduced CityUHK Ice Cream last year, with a variety of popular flavours. It has been well received by students and faculty, while also attracting visitors to the campus to experience CityUHK’s dairy products, strengthening its connections with the community.
As the first university in Hong Kong to introduce and practice the concept of One Health, CityUHK firmly believes that the health of humans, animals and the environment are inextricably intertwined. The University remains committed to pioneering excellence in veterinary education and life sciences research in Hong Kong, Asia and the world, focusing on public health, food safety, animal welfare and aquatic animal health for the well-being of society.
