CityU lunch reception strengthens partnerships with secondary school principals.

A lunch reception hosted by Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), helped to strengthen partnerships with secondary school principals.

The aims of the reception, which was held on 21 May, were to express appreciation to the secondary schools for their nurturing of high-performing students studying at CityU; develop a two-way dialogue; learn from the schools about the needs of the younger generation of students; and share important information about CityU’s future development.

President Kuo thanked the principals for their support and for nurturing the younger generation. He said that CityU’s professional education encouraged students to contribute to society, which, he added, was also the purpose of universities.

Professor Alex Jen Kwan-yue, Provost of CityU, introduced CityU’s development plans and Dr Lam Miu-ling, Assistant Professor in the School of Creative Media, and a recipient of the 2018 Teaching Excellence Award, showcased CityU’s professional education with a presentation about her teaching practices.

More than 30 secondary school principals attended the lunch. The schools included Holy Trinity College, King's College, Queen's College, St Mary's Canossian College, St Paul's Convent School, Wah Yan College Kowloon, and Ying Wa College, among others.
