Fun with linguistics

Organised by the Department of Linguistics and Translation, the Linguistics Wonderland summer programme ran successfully for the sixth consecutive year from 14 to 16 July at City University of Hong Kong.

Forty students from local secondary schools attended the three-day programme, which featured a series of systematic yet fun introductions to various aspects of human language and related cultures.

Through a variety of teaching and learning activities such as lectures, seminars, presentations and games, students were exposed to diverse features of language systems, as well as how linguistic knowledge can be applied to everyday life.
