It was a remarkable feat of strength and endurance.

A team of eight students from the Master of Business Administration (Executive) Programme (EMBA) students at City University of Hong Kong trekked 112 kilometres across uninhabited sections of the Gobi Desert in just four days.

They were taking part in the 10th Xuanzang Road Business School Gobi Challenge held from 22 to 25 May this year.

For their efforts tackling high altitude over 1,000 metres and 20°C day-night temperature difference, the team was awarded the Shackleton Champion Prize along with other participants in the Challenge.

The team was strongly supported by Professor Yan Houmin, Dean of the College of Business (CB), and Professor Dou Wenyu, Associate Dean (Graduate programmes) of CB and the Director of the EMBA (Chinese).

Professor Dou congratulated the team at the finishing point.
