A major world literature event is taking place at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) until 17 July.

More than 130 international participants are attending the fourth summer school session of the Institute for World Literature, which has been jointly organised by the Department of Linguistics and Translation at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Institute for World Literature at Harvard University.

The participants will have the chance to examine the latest challenges of this comprehensive and rapidly developing field, from its theoretical concepts and the history of the discipline to its forms of practice today embedded in a world market.

The Institute features a four-week programme that includes seminars taught by leading names in world literature, together with outstanding guest lectures and opportunities for participants to share their work in affinity groups, as well as panels on pedagogy, programme development, publishing, and the job market.

The programme is also supplemented by outings and cultural events to build community beyond the boundaries of the formal sessions.
