Paintings showing faces and places of Myanmar

Beyond Aung San Suu Kyi and the generals, what do you know about Myanmar? An exhibition on campus showing paintings from the current transitional period in Myanmar may give you some hints.

The exhibition “Myanmar: Faces and Places” presents the work of about a dozen leading contemporary artists. While some are openly political, most are concerned above all to connect with and update the cultural heritage of a major artistic tradition.

Organised by the Department of Public Policy, the exhibition kicked off on 23 September and will run from 24 September to 27 October at the Multi-purpose Lobby of the Run Run Shaw Library.
