CityU happy to promote voluntary service

A Happy Carnival featuring game booths, performances, campus tours and discussion groups was organised as part of City University of Hong Kong’s (CityU) City-Youth Empowerment Project on 18 April. In recognition of their contribution, certificates were presented to 50 outstanding exchange, mainland and local students who had been providing voluntary services to people in need, including children suffering from Asperger’s disorder, children from single parent families, ethnic minority children and youth, and senior citizens living alone.

Organised by the Department of Applied Social Studies, the City-Youth Empowerment Project aims to bolster student’s compassion and confidence through community volunteer service. Both the students and the community benefit through the students’ personal development and dedicated service.
