城大開發的「視覺鑑別聲調正誤」軟件已成功應用於普通話教學，全港中小學自6月中起可以使用一套運用該教學軟件的網上自學普通話多媒體教程，提升學生的普通話的能力。
四位教員憑藉卓越的教學表現，在27名由學生、校友或課程委員會提名的候選教師中脫穎而出，成為城大2005-06年度傑出教學獎的得主。
