城大材料科學及工程學系講座教授Andrey Rogach教授及數據科學學院與電腦科學系講座教授王鈞教授，膺選為歐洲人文和自然科學院外籍院士。
城大傳播及媒體講座教授、人文社會科學院副院長（教學人員及研究）黃懿慧教授獲選為國際傳播學會會士，以表彰其傑出學術成就。黃教授是兩岸四地首位獲此殊榮的華人女性學者，其獲選肯定了她於國際傳播學界的成就。她也是國際傳播學會成立以來，第八位當選會士的華人學者。
李兆基資訊工程講座教授兼工學院院長郭大維教授，獲德國洪堡基金會頒發洪堡研究獎，以表彰他在非揮發性記憶體系統及軟件設計的先驅研究成果與成就。
亞洲及國際學系副教授Nicholas Thomas博士膺選為英國皇家公共衞生學會院士。
香港城市大學（城大）於6月15日再度入選美國國家發明家科學院（National Academy of Inventors）全球頂尖100所獲頒最多美國專利的大學，在2020年全球位列第51位，是歷年最佳排名；亦是連續五年排名冠絕本地大學。
4月30日，在傑出教學獎牌匾揭幕儀式上，校長張信剛教授說：“牌匾將提醒我們：城大是教與學的中心。過去10年來，我們一直將教學質量作為城大的中心主題，沒有誰能比我們在此看到的這些名字更能體現這一精神。”牌匾上刻有自從1993年傑出教學獎建立以來所有獲獎教師的姓名，在牌匾遷入教學樓入口處之際，城大專門為其舉行了揭幕儀式。

The first batch of Associate Degree students majoring in Leisure and Tourism Management presented how to market Hong Kong as a tourist attraction at the final year project exhibition, 21-23 April.
