城大海洋污染國家重點實驗室獲聯合國認可，統籌一項為期十年的「全球河口監測計劃」，通過收集和研究全球主要城市河口的環境污染物，從而制定長遠推動潔淨河口的方針，是香港唯一在首輪申請獲聯合國認可的行動計劃。
香港城市大學（城大）於6月15日再度入選美國國家發明家科學院（National Academy of Inventors）全球頂尖100所獲頒最多美國專利的大學，在2020年全球位列第51位，是歷年最佳排名；亦是連續五年排名冠絕本地大學。

"China and Southeast Asia: Challenges, opportunities and the reconstruction of Southeast Asian Chinese ethnic capital" was co-organized by CityU's Southeast Asia Research Centre (SEARC) and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSAS) at Xiamen University.
The future is already knocking on our door in the guise of nanotechnology, and Mr Shimon Peres has the vision to open that door. "Today's Advancements — Tomorrow's Future, The Role of Economic, Technological and Scientific Development in Today's World" was the title of a lecture by Mr Shimon Peres, Israel's Former Prime Minister and Nobel Peace Laureate, delivered at City University of Hong Kong, the morning of 5 March. He also toured the University's laboratories.
