About the Talk

In response to the Paris Agreement, governments around the world have been formulating long-term strategies in achieving carbon neutrality to combat climate change.  The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has pledged to strive towards achieving carbon neutrality on or before 2050, and published the Climate Action Plan 2050, which sets relevant targets under four decarbonisation strategies.  The said Action Plan covers an extensive range of initiatives, which cannot possibly be achieved without the participation and contribution of the community at large.  The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) has been collaborating with universities, research institutions and the industry in promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy with a view to contributing to achieve the said targets.
