電子工程學系許樹源講座教授成功研製國際統一的「無線電池充電平台」，創新和簡化了手提電子產品的充電過程。
香港城市大學電子工程學系應屆畢業生張韻思及麥嘉銘，於2005電機工程師學會香港分會青年會員部論文比賽中，憑藉無線通訊範疇的研究，分別榮獲本科生組別冠軍及優異獎。
