A group of 24 social work students from CityU launched a press conference on 13 June to call attention on the issue of labour rights among South Asian people in Hong Kong. Arecent addition to the CityU scene, the Southeast Asia Research Centre (SEARC) is fast gaining a reputation as a unique research institution. Inaugurated in February 2001, the Centre has spent the past 10 months hiring new staff-one senior research fellow is already on board and there are two others on their way-receiving and funding research applications, putting a series of working papers on its website and offering a range of seminars.

過往三年,香港青少年事務有那些重大的發展?他們的生活與價值觀有否因為經濟放緩及與內地增加接觸而有所轉變?
為了進一步了解今天青少年面對的社會心理、文化及政治問題,城大應用社會科學系及社會科學部於2000年3月成立了「青年研究室」(簡稱YSNet)。
城市大學應用社會科學系的岳曉東博士在過往幾年裡在香港及內地多個城市就青少年偶像崇拜的風氣以及他們心目中最具創意的人物形象這兩個方面進行了有關研究。
