Forging links with secondary schools
The visit, one of the many activities organized by the Offices for Institutional Advancement, is designed to improve channels of communication and create a dialogue between the University and Hong Kong's secondary schools.
Representatives from the six secondary schools-Mr Mok Chung Fai and
Mr Wong Sing Yiu of Buddhist Hung Sean Chau Memorial College,
Mr Ng Wai Cheong of Confucian Ho Kwok Pui Chun College, Ms Fung Lin Foon and Mrs Tang Choi Pik Chau of Hotung Secondary School, Mrs Cheung Lam Lai King and Mr Chan Tze Ying of Queen's College, Ms Dora Chan Lai Yin of S.K.H. Leung Kwai Yee Secondary School, and
Sister Damian Lai of St Paul's Secondary School- were given an exclusive campus tour by Professor Y S Wong, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement. The highlight of their tour included visits to the Run Run Shaw Library and the School of Creative Media.
In the past academic year, 28 school principals, on five separate visits, have toured the campus. Beginning later this year, the programme will expand to see CityU staff visiting local secondary schools, to better understand the needs of today's students.
