EE graudate awarded Champion in IEE Contest

 

Kenji Yum Tsz-yin, bachelor's degree graduate of the Electronic Engineering Department this year, outperformed seven PhD students from other local tertiary institutions and got the champion in the IEE Hong Kong YMS (Younger Members Section) Paper Contest held in September. 

Kenji's winning paper -- Novel Sub-harmonically Pumped Mixers Incorporating Spiral CMRCs for Low Cost Wireless Communications SubsystemsNis his final year research project. It aims to develop low-cost solutions for millimeter-wave communications, which is strategically important in improving broadband interconnection infrastructure in Hong Kong and the world.

Kenji graduated with a first class honors this year. Devoted to research work, he continues his study as MPhil research student at CityU.
