PhD student workshop marks its 10th anniversary

 



The 10th PhD Student Workshop cum Presentation Ceremony for the Peter Ho Conference Scholarships was held at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei from 2 to 3 June.
 
The annual workshop, jointly organised by the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the Graduate School of USTC, provides a platform for students to share their latest research findings.
 
This year more than 50 PhD students from four universities joined the workshop. Three guest speakers were invited to give lectures on the frontiers of their research as well. They were: Professor Jiang Zhibin from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Shan Guangcun from Beihang University, and Dr Liu Lili from CityU.
 
Officiating at the opening ceremony were Professor Zhang Shulin, Vice-President of USTC, and Professor Lu Jian, Vice-President (Research and Technology) and Dean of Graduate Studies at CityU.
 
In addition, 10 students were presented with Peter Ho Conference Scholarships in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.
 
USTC and CityU are long-standing partners that jointly produced more than 200 distinguished PhD graduates in their respective areas.
