The City University of Hong Kong Press will launch its four latest publications at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2001, which will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18-23 July.

One of the new titles, Shamrock & Chopsticks, is a collection of essays written by Jin Di, whose translation of James Joyce's Ulysses into Chinese is recognized as a monumental work that has encouraged Chinese studies in Joyce over the years. Shamrock & Chopsticks is about Ulysses and the 16 years Jin spent translating it.The essays include contributions by renowned Joycean scholars.

The other three new titles cover business letter writing and communication in Chinese. Writing Chinese Letters for Business in the 21st Century is a comprehensive handbook for writing business letters in various fields. Different sections in the book offer notes, together with examples, to demonstrate the effective use of business communication in Chinese.

Communication in Chinese: Fundamentals and Communication in Chinese: On Writing
were edited by City University's Division of Language Studies. The two books introduce the basic skills in spoken and written Chinese and how to apply them.

CityU Press will display their latest publications and multimedia packages in their booth. All CityU Press publications on sale at the Book Fair will have a 20% discount.
