“Limited Knowledge” is co-presented by the School of Intermedia Art of the China Academy of Art and the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). It is the first exchange programme between the two institutions. Art works created by 15 students from the School of Intermedia Art based around a trip to Dunhuang will be displayed.
The Chinese artist Yang Fudong, who curated “Limited Knowledge” in the spring of 2012 as an art creation project, led 15 students from the Experimental Image Studio, School of Intermedia Art of the China Academy of Art on a 10-day journey to Dunhuang. The project took the form of walking, filming, discussing, and engaging in creation surrounded by the artistic ambiance of Dunhuang’s geo-historical culture and its famous grottoes. These art works will be on display at the CMC together with two other exhibitions: “Pure Land: Inside the Mogao Grottoes at Dunhuang” and “Pure Land Augmented Reality Edition”.
Officiating guests at the opening ceremony include Professor Zheng Bo from the School of Intermedia Art of the China Academy of Art, Professor Jeffrey Shaw, Dean of the School of Creative Media, CityU, and Dr David Cheng Xing, Associate Vice-President (Mainland and External Affairs), CityU.
