CityU Korea Week showcases Korean wedding ceremony

The colourful re-enactment of a traditional Korean wedding ceremony at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) was the highlight event today (23 March) at Korea Week, a vibrant week-long festival celebrating Korean culture. The festival started this week at CityU.

Dressed in traditional Korean wedding attire, CityU teaching staff, students and members of the local Korean community performed historic wedding rituals such as Jeonanrye (presentation of wild goose), Gyobaerye (bowing) and Hapgeunrye (drinking).

The biennial event promotes cultural exchanges between Korea and the CityU community and is part of the University’s drive to create a more internationalised, multicultural campus.
