As part of the Humanities Lecture Series organised by the Library of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Professor Zhang Longxi, Chair Professor of Comparative Literature and Translation, will present a lecture on “Vision, Imagination and Creativity: Bridging the Gap Between Sciences and the Humanities”. The lecture will focus on the idea of creativity from a cross-cultural perspective and try to bridge the gaps not only between science and art, but also between the East and the West.

Professor Zhang has attained world renown as a scholar and prominent author on humanities and cross-cultural studies. His main research interest is in promoting cross-cultural understanding between China and the West, from the perspective of East-West comparative studies. He has been selected as a Foreign Member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities.
