Exchanges between CityU, mainland universities on postgraduate education

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) hosted a “Postgraduate Education Roundtable Forum” in Suzhou in early May to exchange ideas with mainland universities on internationalisation and the future development of postgraduate education.

The forum was a new session of the PhD Student Workshop jointly organised by CityU’s Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies and the Graduate School of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

Representatives of CityU and USTC joined others from Central South University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, South China University of Technology and Wuhan University to discuss topics such as the joint supervision of research students, degree conferment, intellectual property, and other ways of academic exchange and collaboration.

An award presentation ceremony was held on the same occasion for the “Peter Ho Conference Scholarships”, now in its 10th year. Dr Peter Ho Ka-nam, Honorary Fellow and Distinguished Alumnus of CityU, presented the scholarship to the awardees.
