A Long Service Award ceremony on 29 October acknowledged the loyalty and dedication of staff members at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
This year, a total of 326 staff members were awarded long service awards, 48 of whom received the 30-year service awards and 125 the 25-year awards.
Professor Way Kuo, University President, said he was grateful for the loyalty and hard work of the long-serving staff.
“The pearl is the symbol of a 30th anniversary, and those who have served CityU for 30 years are the pearls of this University,” he said. “CityU has done very well over the past 30 years thanks to all the staff members who have served the University for so many years.”
Dr Mark Richard Hayllar, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Policy, and Mr Yau Yuk-lun, Technical Officer of the Campus Development and Facilities Office, expressed their feelings about their 30 years at CityU in a sharing session.
Professor Kuo and senior management representatives presented the awards to colleagues in the two longest-serving categories at the ceremony, which was organised by the Human Resources Office.
