Department of Public Policy inaugurated
A ceremony on 27 August marked the inauguration of the retitled Department of Public Policy.
Officiating at the ceremony were Ms Audrey Eu Yuet-mee, SC (centre), Professor Way Kuo (4th from left), University President, Professor Arthur Ellis (2nd from left), Provost, and Professor Ray Forrest (1st from right), Head of the Department of Public Policy.
Other guests attending the ceremony included: Sir David Akers-Jones (3rd from left) and Ms Christine Fang Man-sang (3rd from right), former and current chairmen of the Departmental Advisory Committee, respectively; Professor Zang Xiaowei (4th from right), Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; and Dr Brian Brewer (2nd from right) and Professor Ray Yep Kin-man (1st from left), Associate Head and Assistant Head of the Department of Public Policy, respectively.
The new title for what was the Department of Public and Social Administration provides the department with a more distinct profile which will aid student recruitment at all levels and enhance research links with similarly oriented departments in other parts of the world.
