Sowers Action in January this year, he never expected to meet so many colleagues, ex-colleagues and CityU students at the event.
When Mr Kingston Sun, our Facilities Manager, signed up for the "Walk to Guangzhou" fundraising activity organized by "It was such a pleasant surprise," he said. Out of the 220 walkers who participated the walkathon, 11 were "CityU people". Eight of them even volunteered to help with services such as first aid, general support, transport, safety and security. Taking into account the contribution from donors, the support given by the CityU community to this walkathon was even bigger.
Mr Sun said the walkathon was a highly rewarding experience. "It was great seeing so many people work enthusiastically, not for self interest, but for a common goal: to raise funds so that children in remote parts of China can receive foundation education."
